he looked up
my body is my own
it’s not for you
my pleasure
is a path
towards the truth
i went out
i saw the world
nothing but sugar
and violence
i wanted more
my empathy is creeping towards
what i would describe as
contemptuous rage
she said
we must work
we must make money
but more
we must experience
everything
not just the good
but degradation
horror
sadness
this makes us
whole
makes us people of substance
not flighty, untouched children
then we can know the world
and when we know the world
the world is ours
i want that
she said
i want that
I love what i’m becoming
i love everything i’ve undone
i love what i’m becoming
i love everything i have undone
