Map Of Africa: Plastic Surgery [whateverwewant] 2007

“Plastic Surgery” is the eighth track on the self-titled debut album by the psychedelic rock/krautrock duo Map of Africa. The critically acclaimed, tongue-in-cheek album was released in May 2007 under the independent record label Whatever We Want Records.

Map of Africa was a collaborative musical project formed by two prominent figures in the electronic and alternative music scenes:

• DJ Harvey (Harvey Bassett), a legendary British house and disco DJ.
• Thomas Bullock, a producer and member of the influential electronic music group Rub N Tug.

Instead of their signature dance beats, the duo used this album to explore a raw, 1970s-inspired fusion of heavy classic rock, fuzzy psychedelia, and spaced-out krautrock rhythms.
