Trevor Jackson: Icaro [Vinyl Factory] 2015

Originally released as twelve tracks each on a separate limited edition physical format via the Vinyl Factory in early 2015, Format was Trevor Jacksons first album release for 14 years, a collection of unreleased recordings made between 1999-2014.

Launched at the Vinyl Factory Brewer Street gallery space in Soho/London, The album could initially only be heard as part of a large scale audio visual installation. Consisting of twelve 80″ screens arranged in a single line along the wall of the gallery space, each screen presented a short film showing the detailed ritual involved in playing separate physical music formats on their own relevant playback machine.

11 of these formats were available to purchase at the exhibition: 7″/10″/12″ vinyl, CD & Mini CD, Cassette, USB, VHS, Mini Disc, DAT, 8 Track & 1/4″ reel to reel tape, the reel to reel was only available in an art edition of 10 that contained all the items.

Later that year released as a Triple Vinyl LP and CD, this expanded edition features extra tracks previously unavailable.
